Ready to make a commitment? We have wonderful dogs that would love to be a part of your family! All dogs are spayed/neutered before adoption, or scheduled to be altered during the first week of arrival from the shelter. They are up-to-date on vaccinations and a certificate for a FREE initial vet visit is provided to the adopter.

Foster a Hamburg Mutt

Hamburg Mutts for Freedom is a foster-based rescue, meaning that we do not have a physical shelter. All of our rescue dogs are fostered in volunteers’ homes. The more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save.

Fostering is completely free. We will provide food, supplies, and veterinary care for the dogs. All you have to do is provide a loving home. We work to find dogs who are a good fit with your family and lifestyle.

Adoption Fees

Puppies – $450 + $50 REFUNDABLE deposit – NYS now requires a $50 REFUNDABLE deposit for rescues with unaltered dogs/puppies. Deposit will be returned to adopter upon completion of spay/neuter. Hamburg Mutt’s pays for spay/neuter when puppy reaches appropriate age. 

Puppy Mill Dogs – $400

All Other Dogs – $350

Please note that we only adopt out dogs to owners in the United States and within 50 miles of Buffalo, NY. We do this to ensure that our volunteers do not have to travel far when they conduct home visits and take dogs for meet and greets. Keeping adopted dogs local also enables us to provide assistance to new owners as needed. If you do not live the Buffalo area we would be happy to help you find a rescue that is close to where you are!
